Our team includes professional, licensed counselors to ensure that patients are being truly valued as individuals, and to insure that their unique needs are being met. In addition to applying the most current medical sciences, we employ a range of different techniques to equip our patients with the tools they need to succeed both physically and emotionally. When beneficial to the patient, their services can aid in many different situations. Our counselors provide a safe, respectful, and non-judgmental environment to address the concerns that patient feels impacts them the most.

Some specific areas where counseling can make a positive impact include:

  • Gaining a different perspective on problems and issues

  • Promoting greater wellbeing and inner peace

  • Designating and achieving long-term goals

  • Addressing sudden sources of stress or anxiety that has negatively impacted the patient

  • Assisting in the care of more acute mental health issues and stressors

Specialties Include:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT):

CBT is a well studied approach that can aid in identifying triggers, factors, and perceptions that influence feelings and invoke emotional responses. By helping patients to examine and acknowledge their thought pattens and the psychological responses these patterns invoke, patients can begin to understand the underlying difficulties that lead to negative behaviors or emotions. Our therapist further aid patients by providing them with coping mechanisms that can lead to a lasting positive change.

This form of psychotherapy is directed at present-time issues and is based on the idea that the way an individual thinks and feels affects the way he or she behaves. This allows us to empower the patient to focus on problem solving and aid them in changing their thought patterns to better handle difficult situations. CBT can be applied to a wide range of mental health issues and conditions. Clients learn to stop avoiding, denying, and struggling with their inner emotions, and instead, accept that these deeper feelings are appropriate responses to difficulties they face. Through acceptance, patients learn that these situations should not prevent them from moving forward in their lives. With this understanding, patients are able to embrace a healthier approach  that leads to greater growth and personal resiliently.

Supportive Therapy:

Supportive Psychotherapy aims to support and strengthen the individual's potential for more and better functioning in both adaptational and developmental tasks. This approach utilizes techniques such as inspiration, reassurance, suggestion, persuasion, counseling and re-education, for those who are too psychologically fragile, inflexible or defensive for exploratory therapies.
